I am sorry but this week... I've got nothing.

I am so disgusted with the reports about the Costa Rican Temple issue that I can think of little more. This little band of "Managers" is looking to "sell" a piece of property that they have apparently surmised is not the estate and environs of the Deities and devotees, but instead the home of some statues and some sentimental freeloaders. Thus, this week I have nothing to "Laff" about.

Instead, I am incapable of thinking about anything other than those sincere souls who have been quietly serving this Dhama for the last so many years, who are now being told that the service they have performed for the last so many years means nothing to the managerial powers who have determined that they can make such broad assessments. If these reports are true, this locale seems to represent to these "Managers" only some quantity of money and not an ongoing and eternal repository of Pure Krsna Bhakti.

I'm caused to recall an eleven or twelve story Temple building on West 55th street in New York that was sold some twenty odd years back, despite the expressed, specific, previous admonishments to never, ever do so from Srila Prabhupada. I seem to recall this action did not produce a good result. Do none of these "Managers" recall that fiasco?

Case in Point...

There's a reason why the kitchen fire of the Radha Ramana temple in Vrndavana has not gone out in over five hundred years... It's because none of the sevites of Sri Sri Radha Ramana ever imagined that they were possessed of the right to SELL the property of Their Lordships Radha Ramana.

I must now stop, lest I make offenses to those "Managers". Despite the fact that in my estimation, they are making very bad choices, nevertheless they do still chant the Holy Names and thereby demand some degree of my honest respect.
