10 Lakh Devotees to Attend Ludhiana Rath Yatra

Oct 13, LUDHIANA, INDIA (NEWSLINE) Bhagwan Jagannath Rath yatra will be organised on October 15 this year. Disclosing this, Satish Gupta President of Bhagwan Jagannath Rashtriya Mahotsav Committee said,‘‘This rath yatra is organised every year with the cooperation of Antar Rashtriya Sri Krishan Bhawnamrit Sangh, Iskcon’’.
Addressing the press conference Satish Gupta and Rajiv Duggal General Secretary of the Committee said,‘‘This year about 10 lakh devotees from about 108 countries will participate in the yatra.’’
Before this year’s Rath Yatra, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana will offer prayers to Bhagwan Jagannath.
Rajiv Duggal said that keeping in view the traffic problem caused due to the ongoing construction of the elevated road, the route of the rath yatra has been changed this year.
The rath yatra will start from Durga Mata Mandir and go through the Jagraon Bridge and after passing from Fountain Chowk, Ghumar Mandi, Aarti Chowk and Ferozepur Road, before concluding at Raghunath Mandir, Agar Nagar. The whole passage will be decorated and different social and religious organisations will put up stalls offering prasad of Lord Jagannath.
On October 16, ‘Hare Krishan Mahotasav’ will be organised at Maharaja Palace and afterwards Langar will be served to devotees.
