First International Vaisnava Film/Video Festival

BY: ITV

Jan 30, USA (SUN) — DVD's are arriving from all over the world - South Africa, India, UK, Poland, US, etc. "I'm astounded at the high quality and professionalism of the submissions," noted Nrsimhananda dasa, organizer of the festival. "Vaisnavas are on the cutting edge of digital technologies, and the subject matters are varied and profound. Devotees in Mayapur are in for a treat. We will be presenting the "Nityananda" awards along with cash prizes. We have the entire evening of March 11th on the main stage, and I promise that it will be a memorable and entertaining occasions a la the Oscars.

We will be showing excerpts from nearly all of the entries. The following two evenings, we will project complete shows in the samadhi auditorium. We plan to tape the ceremony and podcast it later. We also have a surprise to reveal to all in attendance.

It's the premiere of a technology that will be a break-through in preaching with video. A special "Lifetime Achievement Award" in film/video will also be given. If Billy Crystal or Aishwarya Rai doesn't make it to Mayapur, I've lined up an equally spectacular master of ceremonies. If there are any filmmakers or videophiles that haven't sent in their masterpieces, there is still time. Please contact me immediately: nrs@charter.net. The festival is open to all Vaisnava camps and has no entry fees."
