I Got Duped

Dec 13, 2010 — ALACHUA, FLORIDA, USA (SUN) — It's the Christmas marathon and Bhagavad-gita month. In Alachua, our Temple President, Mukhya Mata makes her announcements asking devotees to sponsor cases of Bhagavad-gita As It Is. A minimum goal for the sponsorship of 108 cases has been set. My wife and I got duped into sponsoring several cases. Why do I say duped? Because of the use of the old bait and switch tactic.
There's a poster in the temple room with pictures of the cover of the pre-1978 unchanged Bhagavad-gitas. My wife and I, like some other devotees, assumed we were sponsoring the Bhagavad-gita whose cover is being shown in these boxes.
Every time someone sponsors one or more cases, another corresponding picture is put into the previously empty drawn out rectangle. The picture put up is of the pre-1978 Bhagavad-gita, despite the fact that the case of Bhagavad-gitas purchased are actually HH Jayadvaita Maharaj's edited editions.
