Another Despicable Lie

Nov 20, INDIA (SUN) — I would like to bring up one further point that Mahasrnga das raises about the Akshaya Patra prasadam distribution program. From this one point we can see how ISKCON (and Mahasrnga das) use misinformation to discredit Madhu Pandit das, and it is really despicable. Mahasrnga das says:
"Several schools have canceled his program because of the low quality of meals. Bottom line: MP is making millions in profit from his food program."
The reality behind this false statement is that some government schools insisted on Akshaya Patra providing eggs to the students with each meal. They argued that an egg is needed to make the meal nutritious, and if we do not provide eggs then the meal is not nutritious for the children. Madhu Pandit das absolutely refused to provide anything but Krishna prasadam to the children, and would not budge on this point. He offered to provide a banana with every meal to make up for the nutrition lost by not including an egg with the meal.
Some schools refused this alternative and insisted that their children should be provided eggs with each meal. As a result, the Akshaya Patra program could not comply with their requests and stopped supplying some schools with food (a very few schools).
Now some rascals in ISKCON, including Mahasrnga das, twist this and say the food being offered by Madhu Pandit das was "of low quality" and due to this low quality of food the schools have cancelled the supply of food. The food prepared by Akshaya Patra has been found to be the HIGHEST QUALITY FOOD and prepared in the CLEANEST environment among all midday meal providers in India. There have been newspaper articles on this exact point, stating that the kitchens used by Akshaya Patra are spotless and the food is prepared with minimal human touch to preserve cleanliness. Further, there have been court decisions (also reported in the newspapers) stating that the Akshaya Patra food preparation is of a higher quality than other suppliers, and as a result the government must select Akshaya Patra to be the supplier of food for the midday meal programs, as it is in the interest of the students to have higher quality food. This was decided when other suppliers of midday meals filed a court case against the government to stop them from giving the contract to Akshaya Patra. The court found that the quality of food provided by Akshaya Patra was of a higher quality and prepared in a cleaner environment, and as such the government had the right to cancel other contracts and transfer them to Akshaya Patra.
Despite this, there are rascals in ISKCON who will twist any false story to discredit the work Madhu Pandit is doing.
