Satyaraja's Kirtan Book
BY: HAMSAGATIH DAS
Sep 12, CANADA (SUN) Gadadhar das' criticism of Satyaraja das' kirtan book seems to push for abandonment of those who haven't bathed fully in the stream of Lord Nityananda's shakti - nitya-lila pravishta 108 Abhaya Charanaravinda Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The reality is that Srila Prabhupada encouraged everyone to chant. He welcomed Allen Ginsberg, who may have had some 'all is one' mixed in his composition. He also won over many other yogis, meditators and scholars.
We are 'all one' and 'simultaneously different from' the Supreme Lord. Notice that 'all one' and simultaneously different from' rhyme. It is now up to us to gently and intelligently share the second part with our peaceful brothers and sisters the world over.
Let us remember how Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu patiently heard Sarvabhauma Battacharya for 7 days without becoming angry. He also converted the (heavy) Mayavadi, Prakashananda Saraswati along with all his followers by His own brilliance; not by avoiding their association. Rather than attempting to pick apart Satyaraja's merciful approach, perhaps Gadadhar prabhu will make a wonderful plan to win over with love and intelligence the hearts and minds of those very favorable, friendly Kirtaniyas moving about the world today.
