Radha-Kund Feast


In many ISKCON temples, sumptuous preparations are offered to the Deities eight times a day. Standard Vedic menus are used, and the dishes are placed before their Lordships on silver plates. A Tulasi leaf is laid on each preparation being offered to the Lord. A typical day's menus in the temple might look like the following:


Offering at 3:50 a.m.:

  • Burfi
  • Two kinds of sandesh
  • Rasagulla
  • Sweet rice (shrikand in summertime)
  • Water

Offering during morning puja:

  • Fruit salad
  • Burfi
  • Sandesh
  • Water

Offering at 8 a.m.:

  • One sabji
  • Chickpeas
  • Salty chutney
  • Savory
  • Halava
  • Laddu
  • Cake or other sweet
  • Puri
  • Water

Offering at 1 p.m.:

  • Two sabjis
  • Pakora
  • Rice
  • Dal
  • Soup
  • Chapatis/ Papadams
  • Salad
  • Pickles
  • Sweet chutney
  • Sweet rice (sometimes additional sweets)
  • Juice
  • Water

Offering at 3:45 p.m.:

  • Two fruit salads
  • Fruit juice
  • Lassi/ milkshake
  • Whipped cream (ice cream in summertime)
  • Sugar-coated nuts
  • Cookies
  • Honey
  • Water

Offering at 6:30 p.m.:

  • Two kinds of sabjis
  • Rice
  • Savory
  • Sweet
  • Puri
  • Water

Offering at 7:40 p.m.:

  • Hot milk
  • Sweet chutney
  • Puris
  • Water

Offering at 8:45 p.m.:

  • Cooked-down milk
  • Betel nuts
  • Water
