The Mahabharata with Commentary by
Sri Nilakantha

BY: HARI PARSHAD DAS

Jun 01, 2013 — USA (SUN) — By the mercy of Lord Krishna and the Vaishnavas, I've managed to find and upload the entire Mahabharata with one commentary on it. Those devotees who are adept at reading Sanskrit and wish to read the Mahabharata with this ancient commentary can now do so.

I have uploaded the digitized PDF to this location: Archive.org/Mahabharata

Kindly note: This is the only existing commentary on the entire Mahabharata.

About the Commentator: Sri Nilakantha was born as Nilakantha Chaturdhar in a family of Brahmins residing near the Godavari river in Kurpara Village (modern day Kopergaon in Maharashtra). His father's name was Govinda Chaturdhar and mother's name was Amba. After his primary education in Maharashtra, he went to Varanasi to study Nyaya, Vedanta, Bhakti Shastras, Smriti, Mimamsa etc. It was in Varanasi that this great commentary on the entire Mahabharata was written by him.

The manuscripts of the commentary were obtained by Sri Ramchandra Shastri Kinjawadekar and the entire Mahabharata was printed along with the commentary from 1929 - 1936 at Sadashiv Peth in Pune.

It is now digitized and presented for the pleasure of the devotee community by,
their servant,

Hari Parshad das
