Do You Remember Ed Asner?

Sep 21, 2011 — CAPSICUM, ARIZONA, USA (SUN) — Ed Asner was the star of the Lou Grant Show which ran for five years (1977-82) in America. The show garnered a huge number of Emmy awards (13). According to Wiki, Ed's other awards include Golden Globe, Peabody, Director's Guild and two Humanitas prizes. Ed continues to act in film, TV and stage to this day.

Ed is quite progressive and is very favorable to devotees. His Lou Grant Show was the only one to wrap an entire episode around the Hare Krishna Movement, including the reasons why a thinking individual would seek this form of alternative lifestyle. The devotees were thrilled, and much of the show was filmed at a Sunday Love Feast at the lovely Shri Shri Rukmini-Dwarakadhish Mandir in Los Angeles. It's worth watching and you can see it here

So what is Ed up to these days? Though he's quite old now (82), Ed has made a film (with the support of over 1,500 architects and engineers) which absolutely establishes that World Trade Center 7 was brought down on 9/11 by rigged explosives. The film shows that the destruction was designed as a planned demolition -- one that would have taken months of covert preparation. Interestingly, the American government's spokesperson who claims that blazing office furniture brought down a steel-girder structure was a Hindu Indian. Unbelievably, you can see Dr. Shyam Sundar, PhD, the Lead "Investigator" for the NIST whistling the New World Order's party line in Asner's film, "Architects and Engineers: Solving the Mystery of WTC7"

Why is all this important for devotees? It is important because as ISKCON's preaching becomes more compromised with elements of Interfaith, as Mayavadis are introduced into ISKCON, as ISKCON News prints articles offering support to organizations like the United Nations, then the obvious result can only be widespread confusion about which side of the line devotees are on. There was a time, a period which parallels the Lou Grant Show filmed above (the 1970's) when devotees well understood the principle of devotees vs. demons. They preached boldly and obtained results. All that was compromised when the philosophy was changed by eleven hijackers with GBC approval. Since the cause of the problem has never been addressed, the society still suffers its effects. Like doctors practicing symptomatic medicine which never addresses the root cause of a disease, the GBC's layering the problem with superficial reforms has failed to correct the misdirected course of the Society after some thirty-three years of deviation.

In order to present the path to Krishna consciousness, the demons of the world --whether they are hiding behind the mantles of science, government, entertainment or religion -- must be fearlessly exposed. If ever devotees cannot speak the truth in a way that leads to a right understanding of transcendence, then the once-great International Society for Krishna Consciousness will have lost its way.

The GBC is supposed to be a body of individual thinking brahmanas with managerial and leadership skills. The body was not created as a country club which gets automatic votes from members who wag their heads in agreement like a gaggle of dancing eunuchs. If TV actors like Ed Asner are willing to take chances with the truth, why can't those who are avowed to speak the Absolute Truth and nothing else? Will we boldly speak the genuine versions of Krishna Consciousness as per the instruction and example of Shrila Prabhupada, or will we continue to whistle obliging party line tunes like the WTC "investigators"?
