His Father Searches The Netherworld Of Krishna
The story accompanying this picture also ran with a Clearwater wire photo presented earlier in this series:
CLEARWATER – "I thought it would all sound kookie, but everything he says makes sense. The kids need it, and I think it's great."
The voice was that of 59-year old Marion Bonneville and it was directed at a group of 17 Krishna followers who visited Clearwater Beach to worship their God, not the sun.
"The father never forgets the son because of his love," said one of the Krishna followers to a small group of listeners clad in beachwear. "The son may forget the father because of his ignorance."
As the 17, dressed in their flowing Hindu robes and with shaved heads, talked with those who would listen, two conflicting camps seemed to be forming.
Sitting with the Krishna people sharing their salad, bananas and goat's milk, was a group of perhaps two dozen young people.
Staring in from an encircling wall of spectators were those who came to get a first-hand look. One man brazenly posed his wife near the group and took a snapshot.
But the words of the gentle Krishna people were winning a warm reception, even on the outer circle.
"Basically, he's teaching what good parents would teach their child," continued Mrs. Bonneville." [ ]
