Mahavishnu Swami and Hat Cit Ananda

BY: PARASURAM DAS

Aug 19, UK (SUN) —

Rocana Prabhu was concerned about the Swami's funny hat, how he felt it was inappropriate for a Sannyasi to wear such a funny thing. My poem may not be the most philosophical thing I have ever written, but there it is. The photographs are from Ealing Common, where we stopped for a rest on Padayatra.

Yours,
Parasuram das

MAHAVISHNU SWAMI AND HAT CIT ANANDA

Some like the peace and quiet

Mahavishnu Swami enjoys a riot

It may be a bit concerning

To do Padayatra when London's burning

But there's an urgency to preach

There's no time to sunbath on the beach

So does it really matter that

He does it in a funny hat

Padayatra accommodation is often grim

On the first night you can't imagine

We stayed in a derelict house

I saw rats, bugs and a mouse

And even when it rained

The Swami never complained

So I don't really care that

The swami wears a funny hat

From the Congo to the Ganga

He's giving Jivas Sadhu Sanga

Wherever he goes his aim

Is to spread the Holy Name

He preaches to those who are unfit

The outcasts and occasional pirate

So when he wears a funny hat

I just say Om Tat Sat.
