Mar 01, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (SUN) — It was a happy occasion on Sunday evening for Gaura Purnima at the Laguna Beach ISKCON Temple. The temple was decorated with beautiful flower garlands and whole fruits of papaya, oranges, bananas and tangerines. The temple was packed to capacity with joyful devotees of all nationalities.

The temple ladies prepared a 630 course vegetarian feast for Their Lordships, Sri Pancha Tattva, Lord Jagannath, Lady Subhadra, and Lord Baladeva. There were innumerable varieties of puris, chapattis, milk sweets; savories, fruit drinks, pastries, cookies, cakes, vegetable and rice dishes, and puddings. I witnessed many different varieties just of Sri-Khan alone.

There were so many varieties of prasadam shared by the devotees that is was quite impossible for any one person to have tasted or even seen them all. The kirtan and arotik were ecstatic, joyful, and memorable. Devotees played drums, cymbals, bells, and sang and danced ecstatically.

All the devotees and guests were invited to come back Saturday, March 13th for the Annual Hare Krishna Festival through the streets of downtown Laguna Beach.
