Nov 04, 2013 — CANADA (SUN) — Letter from ISKCON leaders on the subject of Dina Sharana devi dasi.

In the November 1st article by Jambavan das, "Another Reason Why Women Should Not Be Leaders in ISKCON ", the author referred to a Dandavats article about HG Dina Sharana dd entitled "Letter To The Leaders Of The German, Austrian And Swiss Yatras". That article has since been deleted from Dandavats, and we have had numerous requests for a copy of it. The text follows:

Dear devoted servants of Srila Prabhupada,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

We are writing to inform you of an unfortunate and stressful personal difficulty that has fallen upon the co-GBC for your zone, Mother Dina Sarana devi-dasi. It is a private and delicate matter. However, because of her position and service, it is liable to produce a disturbing effect on the zone.

Briefly: Mother Dina Sarana's husband of forty years, Chakravarty dasa, has formed a relationship with a younger, married devotee woman in the congregation of Hari-nama Desh. This has gone on for at least three years, despite interventions two years ago on the part of very senior leaders-godbrothers to Dina Sarana and Chakravarty-to persuade both parties to free themselves of this entanglement and return to a proper condition of Krishna consciousness.

As we have recently found out, these attempts have failed. Chakravarty has continued the relationship in secret for two years, and he refuses to give it up. He and the woman seem to have convinced themselves that this liaison is essentially "spiritual."

Consequently, Chakravarty has now chosen to live separately from his wife in order to continue in this relationship.

We know that Dina Sarana is a person of strong determination and commitment to duty, and that she will continue in her dedication to her services to Srila Prabhupada's mission. Still, she is now having to cross through a rough time of upheaval in her life. She will need your understanding and support in this period, as she has ours.

Further, we also know that Mother Dina Sarana has, through all of this, not strayed from the high standards of Krishna conscious conduct. We vouch for her, we stand by her, and we pray for her in this time of trial. We ask all of you to do the same. Be generous with any assistance-whether of a spiritual, material, organizational, or social nature.

Your servants, Prahladananda Swami Kripamoya das Vedavyasa das
