Srila Prabhupada on Prasadam Distribution Policy
BY: BRHATSLOKA DAS (ACBSP)
Oct 24, 2011 INDIA (SUN) In response to Basu Ghosh's "Prasadam or Food", I'm not here to argue on any group's behalf regarding the debate of "prasadam or food", but I would like to point out something Srila Prabhupada said about prasadam, particularly for India's distribution policy.
I lived in Bombay for many years and was involved in prasadam distribution to the Hari-Jans (slum dwellers) as well as to the children of "The Elite" of Bombay, who where mostly college students. The Bombay Temple always had hired help to cook for these programs and also cook for the Temple restaurants as well.
Srila Prabhupada said as long as the manager of the restaurant was a brahmin devotee non-devotee hired help could cook the food and it could be offered and accepted as prasadam. Giriraja Swami could confirm this statement.
