Protecting the Treasure

I have just read "Don't Sacrifice Your Treasure!" by Pusta Krsna das.
Yes... I agree… even though we may be bullied, our children abused, our brothers and sisters given drugs, an instance of murder, banned from the association of the Deities, told we are all Hindus, etc., etc., we should not give up the process of Krsna consciousness.
However…
if we are to conclude all of this is something that happened sometime in the past, we are very very wrong.
The great sickness in ISKCON is that there are those in positions of leadership who still repeat the well worn mantra:
"Problem... what problem?"
Those who dare to point out problems get shot.
Kill the messenger… there… no more problem!
My personal experience of the rot that will and is destroying Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON is a dynamic of denial.
It is the inability to discriminate that is destroying Srila Prabhupada's society.
When I came to ISKCON as a naive 18 year old, I considered myself and everyone else as full-fledged devotees.
That was it... I shaved my head, I put a dhoti… I went on Harinam and distributed books.
Sadly… I never quite understood I had to read those self same books.
In due course of time I was obliged to view "devotees" much differently.
Not everyone (including myself) was a pure devotee.
And…
it actually says that in those books.
Oh oh… I have problems.
After a while other devotees confided... er well… we too have problems.
Of course… how does one address "problems" if, at least in theory, there are no problems!
And so it goes on.
When you catch "prabhu" stealing, lying, taking pictures of near naked women, abusing your children, blowing $millions, etc., etc.,
do not even bother informing the ISKCON Child Protection Office, do not even bother telling your ISKCON GBC.
If you want to protect your loved ones and own personal sanity...
do not expect anything at all from the ISKCON management.
To do so will only leave one frustrated and angry.
And Pusta Krishna prabhu...
what do you think of that Confidentiality Agreement?
