"The body may be maintained by any kind of foodstuff, but cow's milk is particularly essential for developing the finer tissues of the human brain so that one can understand the intricacies of transcendental knowledge." (Srimad Bhagavatam 3.5.7, Purport)
"So if you get milk products, milk, then you can prepare so many preparations full of vitamins, which will nourish your brain. Dull brain cannot understand what is spiritual knowledge." (A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada)
Evening of May 4, 2012:
Appearance of Lord Nrsimhadeva Festival at ISKCON Laguna Beach
First ever in ISKCON! Soy-milk abisheka of the Deities. All-soy arati lamps, inaugurating ISKCON's first "cow-free" experience in Deity worship. Wonderful all-vegan feast served last night at the ISKCON Laguna Beach Temple. Absolutely no milk products of any kind used in preparation of the feast. Chocolate-fudge cake for dessert.
Interviewing the ISKCON Laguna Beach Temple President, he justified his reasoning for eliminating all milk products from the devotees' diets, and not serving any to the guests of his temple:
"My goal is to keep people dull brained and docile. That way they will never question my authority or our local GBC member either."
