No Contradiction

Apr 17, 2012 — BLAGOEVGRAD, BULGARIA (SUN) — Thank you, Hamsavatar Prabhu, for your response to my article, "Sex and Spirituality". As you and me and Patita Pavan Prabhu are all astrologers, we all know the value of good compatibility in marriage. I have written a number of articles on this subject before. One of the real values of astrology in the Hare Krishna movement is to bring compatible men and women together. This is also hinged to the article.
And the article is aimed at dissecting the origin of sex from a philosophical point of view. For some that may seem too abstract, but it is necessary because we lose track from Reality. We live in "our" world which has its own rules and regulations, and they are perfectly fine for this time and place. One of these rules is that having sex once a month and for procreation is OK for married couples. When this is done right in compatible marriage it brings satisfaction and upliftment and no desire for further indulgence. When the rules are followed one can advance further.
Still, the Reality remains that this world is a covered brahmajyoti. That we have come here to disconnect from Krishna. The position of the living entities in the material world is more favorable for spiritual advancement than the condition of the liberated souls in brahmajyoti. These are truths all devotees know. The article is written in such a way that it provokes thought and the fact that you have responded seems that it did have an effect. It may have sounded baffling because the truth is often like a razor blade, and shocking! Yes, all living entities in the material world may be mayavadis, but Srila Prabhupada has given us the way to get out of this world of perverted maya.
I did not write this article in one day. It took me years to come about writing on the topic and about a month to actually write it. If something has taken me such a long time to write, perhaps it should be read not only once to be understood. And it is my belief that if you do so, then you will discover that the article does not contradict what you are saying in your response.
