Not the Queen's Speech

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and pupils at the Krishna-Avanti school for their recent warm reception.
One of my close associates pointed out to me the article commemorating the event, presented on the Sampradaya sun website by Bhaktivedanta Manor.
One only hopes Bhaktivedanta Manor contributes financially to the upkeep of this worthy cause.
We are familiar with the Sampradaya Sun website… my family often discuss many of the topics.
We first saw Hare Krsna devotees dancing around London many years ago.
Since that time we have been watching them from a distance with great interest.
Frankly… if I may speak candidly… how many times have I considered putting aside the crown I am obliged to wear and simply become just plain Elizabeth.
Philip and I have spoken about it so many times. We are tired of being used by unscrupulous politicians for their own ends.
Politics… Royalty… it is such a nasty business.
Oh how we would like to give it all up and join in Lord Caitanya's Sankirtan movement.
However... we do have several reservations. May we share them with you?
Perhaps you have the time to put one's mind at ease.
We have been studying Srila Prabhupada's books for some years and cannot understand why we have to become Hindus?
Is that compulsory?
We have been led to believe that the Hare Krishnas were non-sectarian.
My own Government also has its very own Official Secrets Act (which I signed many years ago)… when we become members of your Hare Krsna movement, will we then have to sign your own Hare Krishna Confidentiality Agreement?
One of your Hindu devotees, Sruti dharma das told us on our recent visit that "humility tolerance and respect for all others" were values being taught at the school.
Please tell us… are these values being taught throughout the Hare Krishna movement, or just at this particular school?
We ask this, as we are not sure if one's children or grandchildren will be safe at your temple facilities?
We have heard that while promoting your Krishna Avanti school, the white and black children were excluded from the school photo… is that true?
We still have in our possession a photo of your former Temple President, Gauri das, when he presented himself at the palace some years back.
Whatever happened to him? We did hear he was under investigation, but one hears so many rumours… if you like I can have my staff look into it for you.
Finally… please give my warmest regards to Michael. We both first saw each other some 50 years ago, when I visited Salford. He was one of the many young children who lined the streets enthusiastically waving flags in our honor. We are told he then grew up and went on to join your Hare Krishna society.
We are told he now goes by the Sanskrit name of Mahavidya das.
