Dear Sun contributing authors:
We have recently been having increased problems with Sun editorials that are appearing on other devotee websites, without attribution. While it's our preference that contributing authors give us the courtesy of a request before articles we've published are re-submitted to other venues, it's not a requirement. However, we do require that if you publish here first then re-submit the article elsewhere, using our edited version, that you ensure the new venue includes our Sun byline.
Our editorial staff puts a great deal of effort into final copy editing for grammar and punctuation, typography and formatting, etc., to ensure that your written work presents as cleanly as possible, so the full impact of your message is delivered to the readers. In return, we expect that if you submit our edited copy to another publication, you will reciprocate by making sure the Sun byline remains intact.
There are a number of devotee-run websites that have been freely helping themselves to Sun content for a long time now. They take our edited work and exclude the Sun byline to make it look like it is their website that has attracted the original writing. We'll deal directly with offending site editors who take an author's work from the Sun and re-publish it. But in the case of authors themselves re-submitting without byline, we will give only one warning, then will reject future submissions from that writer.
Thank you.
