I have just read Govinda das's recent article, "Will ISKCON Change Because We're Angry?
Firstly… may I say I am somewhat flattered that Govinda das reads my repetitive articles.
Ho...humm.
However…
Govinda das does legitimately raise a very good point…
"will ISKCON change because we're angry?"
Please consider…
has Govinda das ever stopped to consider WHY not just Mahavidya das, but numerous other "rank and file" ISKCON members are "angry"?
Has Govinda das ever taken the time and trouble to ask?
For one …
I am sure our ISKCON leadership would be only too happy to see the disgruntled rank and file just disappear.
Yes... shut up… clear off.. (and that's being polite).
Roll over and die.
So… what to do?
Should I adopt the attitude of (expletive of your choice here) ISKCON and all its members?
Should one head for the Gaudiya Math?
Should one head for the nearest bar and drown one's sorrows?
Should one lie awake at night thinking of how to build and use weapons of mass destruction?
Or should one…
try to be a little constructive.
Write articles exposing the nonsense that is passed off as Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON?
Because…
until one accepts that problems DO exist within the ISKCON institution …
how is one to rectify the situation?
Our present ISKCON leadership openly embrace a policy of "shoot the messenger".
Here in ISKCON UK…
one can be banned from ISKCON merely for the heinous crime of "accosting".
I have been banned from my local ISKCON temple since 2008 without even the courtesy of a trial.
I will only be allowed back if I publicly give written assurances that I will keep my mouth shut.
Yea... right.
And yes... everything I say publicly, I can back up with documentation.
What does Govinda das think…
Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON is just not worth the effort?
Perhaps…
what we should leave behind for future generations is...
a perverse.. sick... rotten... mundane society?
My dear beloved grandchildren... here is your spiritual inheritance... and it sucks.
I am sorry to bore Govinda das with my angry words but...
i am open to constructive criticism.
And…
I look forward to hearing from Govinda das prabhu and his strategy to help/heal/change Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON.
