Why Look Cheap and Foolish?

The temple managers are at a public meeting at the Council offices. They are appealing a decision not to allow the temple to erect a wedding marquee. The Hindu card is played, then Mahavidya prabhu presents quotations on what Srila Prabhupada said about the marriage business, and what Srila Prabhupada said about Hinduism. He presents the Child Protection sanctions that were placed on Gauri das and the obvious evidence that he was breaking the sanctions as he was standing there in front of the judge.
The problem is not just who is right and who is wrong - that you can decide. Mahavidya prabhu is sticking by his guns, which is reasonable as he is a senior devotee in good standing, and his three children were abused in the past (one by our Gauri).
The problem is that this stuff will hit the media, and we don't want to be labeled as a cheap religion who disobeys the Guru just for money, or as a religion that is stupid enough to put a child abuser in charge of a spiritual society.
