Feb 21, 2011 — TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA (SUN) — Thank you for posting pictures of Sudama Maharaja. He was the very first Sannyasi that Srila Prabhupada ever initiated, and he never got the recognition he so rightfully deserves. I heard him lead the Gurupuja when Srila Prabhupada visited the 340 West 55 Street temple. Srila Prabhupada really loved that temple. I was sitting in the front row
when Srila Prabhupada gave the first lecture in that temple, and I could see the tears in his eyes, how happy he was. Sudama lead the kirtan like it was coming from Vaikuntha!
I was not even a devotee then, I just happened to be there because I heard this good looking mataji telling me, "Shhhhhh, keep it a secret, Srila Prabhupada is coming." Lol
Yeah, I was there at 340 West 55 Street temple, but I'm not here to look at the faults that happened there. It's all in the history books. But today I'm recognizing Sudama Maharaja as one of the best servants of Srila Prabhupada. That's good enough for me, Nama Sankirtan.
